The game itself gets easy as soon as you know that certain enemies always do the same actions and they become quite predictable. The game can be brutal even in rookie if you don't know what you're doing.Įarly game you'll have to trust guaranteed damage sources. What would you say are your biggest problem areas? What aspects cause you to lose people / fail missions the most often? Etc. Without seeing gameplay, it's difficult to come up with suggestions. If you're doing all of that and still getting team-wiped on Rookie, then there's some critical aspect you're missing. I've already read the advice about not triggering more pods than necessary, about using decoys, prioritising resistance ring spam, flashbangs for sectoids/codexes, Trying to use high cover only, target priority etc etc but even with all that in mind I'm still getting team wiped and even on mission sucesses I'm still almost always 2-3 people dead by the end of the mission. Everything that needs saying has been said and regurgitated hundreds of times before. (B) Any written guides for XCOM 2 have already been written and have been available for years. (A) A video guide will teach you far more than a written one, because you'll be able to see situations unfold, think how you would handle them, and then compare how someone else approaches it, hopefully explaining their thought process. The only thing I haven't done is save scum as I believe that is against the spirit of the game. I've been playing on and off for about 4 years but I've never beaten the game, I think the furthest I've gotten is researching the codex brain but the my campaigns seem to just derail after that.
